Voter Turnout
During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 65,199 and the turnout stood at 73.54%, in real numbers- 47,946 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 71,545 electors, 75,99% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-54,367 voters.
Representation and Results
2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Bikram Singh Jaryal gained a vote share of 53.56% and defeated INC’s Kuldeep Singh Pathania whose vote share stood at 40.90%. The other prominent candidate in the fray was independent candidate Rahul Ranpatia with a 1.15% vote share. 1.20% Of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 18.098 votes and 29,119 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 17,987 votes in 2012 and 22,234 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Chamba in 2017 by winning 4 seats. INC managed to win 1 seat in the district.
