Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 72,274, and the turnout stood at 77.38%, in real numbers- 55923 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 77,740 electors, 79.74% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-61,989 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Kishori Lal gained a vote share of 49.30% and defeated INC’s Paras Ram whose vote share stood at 39.65%. The remaining candidates in the fray were CPI(M)’s Lokender Kumar with 7.59% vote share. 1.52% of vote were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 21664 votes which though increased to 24576 votes in 2017 but still the party went on to lose. On the other hand, BJP garnered 20002 votes in 2012 and increased its number of votes to 30559 votes in 2017 to win the election. HLP received 8340 votes in 2012 whereas CPI(M) got 4704 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Kullu in 2017 by winning 3 seats. INC scored 1 seat.
