The first general election for the Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat was held in 2009, with Rakesh Pandey of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) emerging victorious.

In the 2014 general election, Hariom Pandey of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) won the Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat, defeating Rakesh Pandey of the BSP.
In the last general election held in 2019, Ritesh Pandey of the BSP won the Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat, defeating the BJP’s Mukut Bihari.

In terms of success rate, it’s BSP that enjoyed the maximum success with 67% in Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha followed by BJP at 33%.
