Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 229411 and the turnout stood at 70.14%, in real numbers- 1,60902 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 2,59534 electors, 69.49% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-1,80357 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Dilipkumar Viraji Thakor gained a vote share of 40.90% and defeated INC’s Desai Raghubhai Merajbhai whose vote share stood at 36.34%. The remaining candidate in the fray was Independent Candidate Thakor Dineshbhai Aataji with 15.32% of vote share. 2.10% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 83462 votes and 73771 votes in 2017. INC garnered 66638 votes in 2012 and 65537 votes in 2017. Overall, INC dominated the Patan district in 2017 by winning 3 seats. BJP scored 1 seat.
