Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 61,599 and the turnout stood at 82.90%, in real numbers- 51,064 voters. 2017 witnessed a slight turnout increase; out of the 66,126 electors, 83.00% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-54,882 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Surender Shourie gained a vote share of 51.03% and defeated INC’s Aditya Vikram Singh whose vote share stood at 45.13%. The remaining candidates in the fray were BSP’s Jhabe Ram Kaushal with 0.97% vote share. 1.25% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 29,622 votes and 24,767 votes in 2017. On the other hand, BJP garnered 20,330 votes in 2012 and 28,007 votes in 2017. BSP received 535 votes in the 2017 elections. BJP dominated the district of Kullu in 2017 by winning 3 seats. INC managed to secure 1 seat.
