Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 75,582 and the turnout stood at 67.53%, in real numbers- 51,040 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 80,717 electors, 72.14% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-58,226 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Inder Dutt Lakhanpal gained a vote share of 44.10% and defeated BJP’s Baldev Sharma whose vote share stood at 43.35%. The remaining candidate in the fray was an independent candidate Sita Ram Bhardwaj with an 8.90% vote share. 0.80% of votes were under NOTA.
