In the 2017 Punjab Assembly election, SAD contested 94 out of 117 seats, winning 15 seats. The 2022 Punjab assembly elections saw a swing in 13 seats from SAD to other parties. Out of total swing seats, AAP managed to unseat SAD from 10 and while 3 seats went in favor of INC. SAD went on to lose 4 constituencies with more than a 20% of margin.
It is apparent that SAD has odds heavily stacked against it but it will be putting in efforts and allocating all resources at its disposal to get ready for the battle ahead.
