Voter Turnout

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 213049 and the turnout stood at 73.18%, in real numbers- 155906 voters. 2019 witnessed a slight turnout decrease; out of the 241796 electors, 72.22% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers, though it was a reasonable jump-174628 voters.
Representation and Results

2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Jyoti Prakash Panigra gained a vote share of 51.60% and defeated BJP’s Padmalochan Panda whose vote share stood at 43.00%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Ananta Prasad Sethi with 4.80% of vote share and BSP’s Pruthwiraj Das with o.40% vote share.

In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 65854 votes and 90083 votes in 2019. On the other hand, INC garnered 57917 votes in 2014 and 8353 votes in 2019 while BJP received 28011 votes in 2014 and 75124 votes in 2109. BSP got 728 votes in the 2019 elections. BJD dominated the district of Baleshwar in 2019 by winning 6 seats while BJP secured 2 seats.
