Voter Turnout
During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 194853 and the turnout stood at 81.73%, in real numbers- 159251 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 224628 electors, 76.66% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-172199 voters.
Representation and Results
2019’s assembly election winner, BJD’s Pranab Kumar gained a vote share of 58. 90% and defeated BJP’s Ramesh Chandra whose vote share stood at 28.20%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s candidate Smruti Rekha with 10.80% of vote share and BSP’s candidate Debabrata Rout with 0.80% vote share.

In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 109241 votes and 101364 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 19940 votes in 2014 and 48625 votes in 2019, while INC received 23455 votes in 2014 and 18588 votes in 2019. BJD dominated the district of Jajapur in 2019 by winning all 7 seats.
