During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 202479 and the turnout stood at 73.63%, in real numbers- 149090 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 229747 electors, 71.67% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-164659 voters.

2019’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Bishnu Charan gained a vote share of 48.70% and defeated BJD’s Rajendra Kumar whose vote share stood at 45.80%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Bidyadhar Jena with 4.40% of vote share and BSP’s candidate Budhiram Samal with 0.50% vote share.

In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 71538 votes and 75486 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 62346 votes in 2014 and 80111 votes in 2019 while INC received 12046 votes in 2014 and 7303 votes in 2019. BJD dominated the district of Nayagarh in 2019 by winning 4 seats.  The remaining one was secured by BJP.
