Location
Brahmagire assembly constituency is located in Puri district and consists of:
Bramhagiri block, Krushnapraad block and 11 Gram panchayats (Kanheibidyadharpur, Gaudakera, Bijaya Ramachandrapur, Pratapramchandrapur, Biranarasinghapur, Birabalabhadrapur, Pratappurusottampur, Hantuka, Basudevpur, Kerandipur and Bhailipur) of Puri sadar block.

Voter Turnout

During the 2014 elections, the total number of electors was 196150 and the turnout stood at 82.41%, in real numbers- 161643 voters. 2019 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 219105 electors, 81.18% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-177866 voters.
Representation and Results

2019’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra gained a vote share of 49.60% and defeated BJD’s Sanjay Kumar Burma whose vote share stood at 48.40%. The remaining candidates in the fray were INC’s Umakanta Baral with 1.40% of vote share and BSP’s Bihari Bandhu Palai with 0.60% vote share.
Voting History -2014 & 2019


In 2014, BJD won the constituency and earned 78675 votes and 86126 votes in 2019. On the other hand, BJP garnered 3277 votes in 2014 and 88256 votes in 2019 while INC received 77334 votes in 2014 and 2504 votes in 2019. BSP got 736 votes in 2014 and 980 votes in 2019. BJD dominated the district of Puri in 2019 by winning 4 seats. BJP managed to secure 2 seats.
