Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 216292 and the turnout stood at 75.56%, in real numbers- 163420 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 259469 electors, 71.80% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-186309 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Patel Nitinbhai Ratilal gained a vote share of 48.43% and defeated INC’s Patel Jivabhai Ambalal whose vote share stood at 44.60%. The remaining candidates in the fray were independent candidates Thakor Amitkumar Vajesang with 1.04% and Thakor Amratji Baldevji with 0.51% of vote share. vote share.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 90134 votes and 90235 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 65929 votes in 2012 and 83098 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Mahesana in 2017 by winning 5 seats. INC scored 2 seats.
