Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 214379 and the constituency recorded 66.63% polling, in real numbers- 142851 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 244482 electors, 64.61% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-157966 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Patkar Ramanlal Nanubhai gained a vote share of 60.78% and defeated INC’s Patel Ashokbhai Mohanbhai whose vote share stood at 34.38%. The remaining candidate in the fray was CPM’s Bochal Hasmukhbhai Ramanbhai with 0.85% vote share. 1.74% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 69450 votes that increased to 96004 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 41151 votes in 2012 and 54314 votes in 2017. CPM got 1348 votes in 2017 elections. BJP dominated the district of Valsad in 2017 by winning 4 seats. The remaining 1 seat was won by INC.
