Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 188320 and the constituency recorded 62.74% polling, in real number the turnout was 118161 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 216398 electors, 60.34% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-130568 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, INC’s Aarethiya Santokben Bhachubhai gained a vote share of 48.87% and defeated BJP’s Pankajbhai Anopchand Maheta whose vote share stood at 37.23%. The remaining candidate in the fray was NCP’s Gada Babulal Meghji with 2.11% vote share. 3.53of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 55280 votes that decreased to 48605 votes in 2017 and cost the party constituency seat. On the other hand, INC garnered 46064 votes in 2012 and increased its share to 63814 votes to capture the seat in 2017. NCP got 2756 votes in 2017 elections. BJP dominated the district of Kutchh in 2017 by winning 4 seats. INC emerged victorious in 2 seats.
