Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 211715 and the constituency recorded a polling of 75.20%, in real numbers- 159203 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout increase; out of the 237328 electors, 75.62% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers it was a reasonable jump-179467 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Parmar Gajendrasinh Udesinh gained a vote share of 46.52% and defeated INC’s Baraiya Mahendrasinh Kacharsinh (Advocate) whose vote share stood at 45.10%. The remaining candidate in the fray was NCP’s Zala Rajendrasinh Kalusinh with 2.07% vote share. 1.62% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 76097 votes that increased to 80931 votes in 2017 but were not enough to win. On the other hand, BJP garnered 69083 votes in 2012 and 83482 votes to win in 2017. NCP got 3718 votes in 2017 elections. BJP dominated the district of Sabar Kantha in 2017 by winning 3 seats. The remaining 1 seat went to INC.
