Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 227599 and the turnout stood at 77.82%, in real numbers- 177120 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 257276 electors, 75.39 % of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-193972 voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Karshanbhai Punjabhai Solanki gained a vote share of 49.83% and defeated INC’s Chavda Rameshbhai Maganbhai whose vote share stood at 45.83%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BSP’s Parmar Aaratiben Ashvinkumar with 0.54% Vote share. 1.37% of votes were under NOTA.
Voting History -2012 & 2017


In 2012, INC won the constituency and earned 84276 votes that did increase to 88905 votes in 2017 but were not enough to secure a winning return for the party. On the other hand, BJP garnered 83059 votes in 2012 and 96651 votes in 2017 and went on to win the election. BJP dominated the district of Mahesana in 2017 by winning 5 seats. INC scored 2 seats.
