Voter Turnout

During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 230919 and the turnout stood at 79.34%, in real numbers- 183205 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 259926 electors, 76.84% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-199720voters.
Representation and Results

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Kanodiya Hitu gained a vote share of 49.48% and defeated INC’s Manibhai Jethabhai Vaghela whose vote share stood at 42.06%. The remaining candidate in the fray was independent candidate Solanki Natvarbhai Govabhai with 1.81% Vote share. 2.45% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 90279 votes that increased to 98815 votes in 2017. On the other hand, INC garnered 78899 votes in 2012 and 84002 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Sabar Kantha in 2017 by winning 3 seats. INC scored 1 seat.
