During the 2012 elections, the total number of electors was 225734 and the turnout stood at 61.31%, in real numbers- 138389 voters. 2017 witnessed a turnout decrease; out of the 277717 electors, 54.87% of voters exercised their constitutional rights. In real numbers though it was a reasonable jump-152397 voters.

2017’s assembly election winner, BJP’s Maheshwari Malti Kishor gained a vote share of 52.31% and defeated INC’s Kishor Gangjibhai Pingol whose vote share stood at 39.01%. The remaining candidate in the fray was BMUP’s Bhanjibhai Myajarbhai Dungariya with a 1.29% Vote share. 2.35% of votes were under NOTA.

In 2012, BJP won the constituency and earned 72988 votes which increased to 79713 votes in 2017. On the other hand, garnered 51675 votes in 2012 and 59443 votes in 2017. BJP dominated the district of Kutchh in 2017 by winning 4 seats. INC scored 2 seats.
